FAQ – Renovation

Everything you need to know.

Who are the renovation helpers at Job2Student?

Dedicated and reliable students with manual skills, often with experience from moving, construction, or handyman jobs.

What tasks do the helpers perform?

Painting walls and ceilings, wallpaper removal, sanding, minor demolition work, cleaning up after renovations, carrying and sorting building materials, assisting professional craftsmen, or helping with small repairs.

How short notice can I book renovation help?

In many cities, often on the same or the next day.

Can I book several helpers at once?

Yes – especially useful for larger renovation projects or when speed is important.

How much does renovation help cost?
  • Hourly wage : On average €15–20 per hour (depending on city, effort, and time). Evening/weekend surcharges may apply. For jobs under 2 hours, we recommend paying at least €30. Payment is made directly to the helper – usually in cash
  • Placement fee: One-time per booking, payable via bank transfer or PayPal (invoice by email, 14-day payment):

• 1 day: €25
• 2 days: €49

Do helpers bring their own tools and materials?

Many students have basic tools (brushes, rollers, screwdrivers, cordless drills). For larger or specific tasks, please provide materials and special tools.

Can helpers also assist professionals?

Yes – students can support painters, craftsmen, or construction workers by carrying, preparing, or cleaning up.

Do helpers also dispose of renovation waste?

Yes, by arrangement – possibly with an additional transport or disposal fee.

Are the helpers insured?

Job2Student is a mediation platform, so helpers are not automatically insured. Clients engage helpers at their own risk. For ongoing work, we recommend registration via the Minijob Center, which includes accident insurance. Students usually have health insurance.

Do helpers also come to remote areas?

Yes, if travel arrangements are agreed in advance.

Can I change the appointment?

Yes, simply coordinate with the helper – please inform them as early as possible.

How can I cancel a booking?

Cancel ideally at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel after successful placement, only the placement fee will be charged.
